My name is Maya Collins. I am 12 years
old and I have been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). I am a
strong, feisty girl and I am determined to beat this disease. I was diagnosed April 2011 and was in the hospital for 6 grueling months. After two rounds of chemo to put my cancer into remission I underwent a bone marrow transplant on September 1st, 2011. I returned home in October but unfortunately we found out in May 2012 that my leukemia had relapsed. I had a second transplant August 2, 2012 and remained in remission for 4 years but unfortunately relapsed again in June 2016. I'm back in the fight again, but I'm strong and ready to kick this cancer to the curb once and for all! Thank you for following my story.
